Handbuilt Stone is owned by Chris Atkin who has a Certificate III in structural landscaping and who has been trained in dry stone and semi-dry stone walling.

 

Chris specialises in rock retaining walls, steps and other features using several types of rock including basalt, sandstone and porphyry. His work is found around the Sunshine Coast, including the hinterland regions around Montville, Maleny, Mapleton, and his work is based on traditional stonemasonry methods.

 

Stone features include double-sided walls, pillars, entrance walls, stone steps, paving and crazy paving, ponds and garden features. 

Chris also builds pizza ovens, stone drains, stone gutters and garden edging. Chris is licensed, qualified and willing to build many forms of retaining walls but believes rock is the most attractive and lasting option, is more cost-effective and environmentally friendly.

 

Handbuilt Stone is certified to build sleeper retaining walls (timber) and install irrigation which can be undertaken separately or in conjunction with your stone feature.
